The Manhattan project created one of the deadliest weapons known to mankind. Additionally, in later years the Manhattan project and its affects spurred numerous sanctions against the development and utilization of another bomb designed to kill an enormous amount of people
During the years before the Manhattan project, the world essentially was in chaos from WW2. The United States and Britain both hoped to end the war with minimal human casualties. With this in mind, both recruited the finest minds in the world in various forms of science, with hopes to develop a weapon that would strategically end the war. For the Manhattan Project to be successful, it was based in twenty different regions of North America to maximize scientific potential.
On August 6th, 1945 the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. It instantly killed 70,000 people, while causing radiation sickness to most others. Most of the people who died or got sick due to the bomb were civilians. The dropping of this bomb, and the one that would be dropped three days later on August 9th, changed the world forever. While no other nuclear bombs were dropped in hopes of hurting people since the August of 1945, many threats have been and still are brewing as tensions between different countries of the world in the present are further expanding.
